Heartfelt Care.

Hi there!
I'm Meghann Barsalou, a Red Seal Carpenter based out of Prince Rupert, BC.
My approach is anchored in two fundamental principles: dedication and authenticity. I weave these principles into every endeavor.
I also prioritize transparent communication and exceptional client relations, coupled with a keen ability to observe and comprehend the environment I operate in.
Whenever possible, I personally choose materials, allowing their natural qualities to steer the creative journey. This harmonious interaction between the journeyperson and the material breathes life into extraordinary projects.

My guiding values
If you can dream it, I can build it.
Courage
Courage is one of my main values for many reasons; courage to move forward in my chosen profession as an industry leader, courage to construct that which does not yet exist, and courage to be myself.
Craft
I aspire to avoid the quick-fix methods in my craft that are often prevalent in modern contracting. While I can work within a range of different budgets, I never cut corners or compromise on quality. I take pride in my craft and believe that through selecting high-quality materials, each piece of wood tells a different story.
Connection
Developing a solid client relationship is a cornerstone of my carpentry approach. I emphasize open communication, actively listen, and thoughtfully consider my clients' needs. My goal is to grasp their vision and ensure they are completely satisfied with the final result.
Longevity
Having longevity as one of my forefront core values goes beyond simply completing a task but I believe encompasses my deep sense of responsibility, effort and attention to detail I bring to each project to ensure structurally sound and long lasting work. To me, Longevity is a guiding value which I operate by that leads me to consider the long term impacts of my work and the positive mark I leave on the world.
Leadership
I strive to view each project with a clear vision and purpose, considering the functionality, aesthetics, and client’s preferences while designing. With intention, my work can convey a sense of purpose, mindfulness, and respect for both the process and the final result. Leadership plays a huge role in my projects through setting goals, taking initiative, and bringing people together in a way that enables projects to move forward and be succesful.
Learning
By having Learning as one of my core values, I am able to continuously grow and cultivate my skills in a personal and professional way that furthers my abilities as a carpenter no matter the task at hand. I value sharing this knowledge with others around me in hopes to inspire and encourage others towards new understandings and appreciations of great carpentry.
